Guidelines for new registrations
It takes approximately six weeks to receive your ICOM card, due to administrative procedures at the head office in Paris. Please take this into account when registering. Every year in December, a new annual stamp for the card will be sent by post. The membership fee will then be automatically debited from your account.
Important: applications before 1 October will be registered as membership for the current year and the full annual fee will be charged. Applications after 1 October will be registered as membership for the following year. Your membership and ICOM card will be valid from 1 January.
Select the type of membership that applies to you below.
1. Supportive Membership: you are a member of the Supervisory Board or Board of Directors of a (registered) museum.
The museum can apply for a Supportive Membership for members of the Supervisory Board and the museum board, but only for the period in which they are in office.
Annual fee: €295
Voting rights: as a supportive member, you do not have voting rights at the General Assembly ('Algemene Ledenvergadering') and cannot sit on the board.
The museum's contact person can submit the application using this form. Please state the start and end dates of the board term and the museum's contact person on the form.
2. Supportive Membership: you work for an organisation that supports museums in terms of policy or finance (such as a policy officer or fund employee) or you work for government organisations and funds that support museums in terms of policy or finance.
Annual fee: €295.00
Voting rights: as a supportive member, you do not have voting rights at the General Assembly ('Algemene Ledenvergadering') and cannot sit on the board.
We ask for your own explanation and a recommendation from a museum with which you collaborate, to demonstrate that, in their opinion, you make a significant contribution to the development of the museum sector, spend a considerable amount of time on museum-related work and that your membership will contribute to the quality of the ICOM network. You can upload your explanation and recommendation in the application form (Word, PDF).
Submit your application using this form.
