FAQ

How can I become a member?

My card is missing/lost/stolen, how can I get a new one?

We ask you to log in. Under 'Apply for a duplicate pass or sticker' you will find more information and the application form.
N.B. There is a charge for sending a new pass and/or sticker: 10 euros for a new sticker; 20 euros for a new card + sticker.

Why haven’t I received a sticker?

There may be a number of reasons for this. Please contact us at administratie@icom.nl, but first check the following:

  • Are your address details in our records up to date? If not, update them by logging in.
  • Have you paid your membership fee? 

Why haven’t I received my card yet? 

This could be due to a number of reasons. Please contact us at administratie@icom.nl, but first check the following:

  • Are your address details in our records up to date? If not, update them by logging in.
  • Have you recently signed up as a member? Please note that applications are processed at the head office in Paris, so it takes about six weeks before you receive your ICOM card.

I have moved, where can I change my address?

  • You can update your new address details yourself by logging in.

I can't log in.

How do I cancel my membership? 

Please contact us at administratie@icom.nl and indicate that you want to deregister. Your unsubscription must be received by 31 October.

I'm changing jobs.

  • Will you continue to work within the museum sector? Update your work situation in the system by logging in here.
  • Will you be working outside the sector? Then cancel your membership by sending an e-mail to administratie@icom.nl.
  • Are you in between jobs? Adjust your work situation in the system by logging in here. Your membership remains valid for one more calendar year, provided that you intend to continue working in the sector.
  • Not sure about your future position yet? Send us an e-mail describing your ongoing involvement in the sector to administratie@icom.nl. This explanation will then be assessed by ICOM Netherlands.

I'm leaving a museum board or supervisory board.

Has the museum involved already deregistered you as a member? If not, please send an e-mail to administratie@icom.nl and indicate that you want to be deregistered.

I'm a student and I'm ending or changing my studies.

Send an e-mail to administratie@icom.nl.

I'm a student and I've finished my studies. 

Send an e-mail to administratie@icom.nl. Do you work in the museum sector? If so, your membership can be converted to an individual membership. If not, please indicate that you want to deregister.

I'm moving within the Netherlands.

You can change your address details yourself by logging in here.

I'm moving abroad. 

Send an e-mail to administratie@icom.nl. We will determine in consultation with you whether you can remain a member (in the case of a short stay abroad) or whether your membership will be transferred to the national committee of the country you’re moving to (in the case of a long stay abroad). ICOM Netherlands will then arrange this for you.

I'm retiring. 

After you have reached retirement age, you will automatically receive senior member status at the start of the new calendar year.
