About the Speaker
Lucimara Letelier is a pioneer of the academic concept of "regenerative museums" in England and serves as a consultant and trainer in regenerative practices within the museum sector. She is the founder and Director of RegeneraMuseu, an organization dedicated to promoting sustainable and regenerative practices in museums and cultural institutions, aiming to support climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience in Brazil and beyond.
She is the Vice Chair of ICOM Sustain, a designer in sustainable and regenerative development associated with Gaia Education/ UNESCO, and has received training from the Al Gore Foundation as well as the Regenerative Economy and Regenerative Development Institute. Letelier has also worked as a Creative Green Researcher at Julie's Bicycle, providing consultancy and training on climate leadership for the arts and culture sector, and has served as a Ki Culture Coach.
With 25 years of experience in arts and culture organizations across Brazil, the US and the UK, her positions include Deputy Director at the Museum of Modern Art, Deputy Director of Arts at the British Council, Head of Fundraising at ActionAid, and roles at the Boston Children's Museum and the Guggenheim Museum. She holds a Master's degree in Museum Studies with a specialization in Green Museums from the University of Leicester in the UK, as well as a Master's in Arts Administration from Boston University in the US.
