Welcome to new Junior Board Member Feija Beersma

In 2028, the ICOM General Conference will come to Rotterdam. Under the theme “Building Bridges. Connecting Worlds, Cultures and Generations,” the conference will highlight the connecting power of museums while showcasing the Netherlands as a leading destination for innovative museum concepts. To oversee both the organisational and content-related aspects of this major event, Anouk Estourgie and Lidwien Hupkens have been appointed as Conference Directors.

During the General Assembly of May 29th, Feija Beersma was officially presented as the new Junior Board Member of ICOM Netherlands. With the Junior Board Membership, we want to connect with our members under 35, by organizing activities and meeting for students and young museum professionals.

"My name is Feija Beersma, I'm 26 years old and I'm very excited to start my term as Junior Board Member! I want to work on an inclusive network for young members of all backgrounds, where they can join forces and actively engage with the community. I hope to bring together as many like-minded young professionals as possible, and to connect them both on a national and an international scale. I look forward to work with the Young Member Focus Group to organize beautiful events and start building the road to the ICOM General Conference in Rotterdam in 2028. I hope we'll meet any time soon!"
