ICOM Resolutions Committee: Call for Applications

In 2028, the ICOM General Conference will come to Rotterdam. Under the theme “Building Bridges. Connecting Worlds, Cultures and Generations,” the conference will highlight the connecting power of museums while showcasing the Netherlands as a leading destination for innovative museum concepts. To oversee both the organisational and content-related aspects of this major event, Anouk Estourgie and Lidwien Hupkens have been appointed as Conference Directors.

In preparation of the 27th ICOM General Conference in Dubai, that will be held in November 2025, ICOM is excited to announce that the Call for applications to join the ICOM Resolutions Committee has been launched on 11 October 2024.

These Resolutions will serve as key documents for the next three years after their adoption, embodying ICOM’s major orientations and policies, addressing current challenges, promoting international best practices, and reflecting the theme of the upcoming 27th General Conference “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities”.

Who Can Apply?

ICOM Members in good standing with expertise in key themes relevant to the upcoming General Conference are highly encouraged to apply. We particularly welcome ICOM Members with knowledge in areas such as intangible heritage, youth empowerment, or new technologies, as these subjects will play a significant role in shaping discussions at the 27th General Conference. Experience in the ICOM Resolutions process or drafting strategic documents is also highly desirable.

How to Apply

This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the museum sector’s future and make a tangible impact through your expertise and dedication. Therefore, interested candidates are invited to submit a short statement explaining their interest in the role, along with a CV and the completed Application Form (available via your ICOM Member Space), by 18 November 2024 (23:59, Paris time) to resolutions@icom.museum.
